[origin: US2010287870A1] A profile rail system (1) is used to cover a covering edge (2). The profile rail system (1) consists of at least one base rail (4) and at least one cover rail (5) that can be adjusted relative to the base rail. The base rail (4) and cover rail (5) are held together by at least one permanent magnet (20) in such a way that the cover rail (5) is pulled towards the base rail (4). At least a section of the base rail (4) and cover rail (5) can be magnetized to achieve a polarity-independent force effect of the permanent magnet (20).
