Abstract (en)
The method involves providing an engine with an electronic engine control. Filling degree of an oxygen tank is returned to an optimum filling degree for a stoichiometric operation after a temporary lean-operation phases of the engine, which is connected with a filling of the oxygen tank, and before resuming controlled engine operation. The engine is supplied with rich pulses by a lean pulse, where amount of oxidative components supplied to a catalytic converter is smaller than amount, which is supplied with the rich pulses for complete compensation, of fat exhaust gas components.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Reinigung der Abgase eines Verbrennungsmotors mit einem Katalysator, der Sauerstoff speichernde Komponenten enthält. Besonders befaßt sich die Erfindung mit der Wiederherstellung des optimalen Füllgrades der Sauerstoff speichernden Komponenten für einen geregelten, stöchiometrischen Betrieb, nachdem der Motor für kürzere oder längere Zeit unter mageren Bedingungen betrieben wurde.
