In order to be able to mount the testing and switching equipment in a particularly simple and flexible manner in the modular terminal, an additional third functional slot (10) is formed at both connecting ends in the terminal housing (3), a third connection possibility corresponding to the third functional slot (10) is formed at both connecting ends in the busbar (4), and the connection possibilities in the busbar (4) are designed as openings (14, 15, 16) into which test sockets (11), test plugs, fixed links (12), or jumpers (13) can be alternatively plugged.
