Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2255681A1] The method involves conveying paper web strips (10.1, 10.2) with a predetermined conveying speed to a formatting device (15) by using formatting belts (17.1, 17.2), and detecting tensile stresses of the web strips by a tensile stress sensor device as an overall tensile stress before feeding of the web strips into the formatting device. The formatting belts are driven by a common formatting belt drive roller (18), and the belt drive roller is regulated based on the detected overall tensile stress, where the conveying speed of the web strips is held constant in a conveying area of the belts. An independent claim is also included for a multifold-string machine comprising a formatting device.
