The container (1) has a base (2), side walls (3a, 3c, 3d), and a cover (4) that is movably arranged at one of the side walls. A slide bearing (7) is connected with an upper edge (5) of one of the side walls using hinges (6). The cover is fastened to the slide bearing. The cover is movably supported in a direction perpendicular to the upper edge using the slide bearing. A fixed part of the slide bearing is connected with the hinges, and a movable part (26) of the slide bearing is fastened to the cover. The cover is provided with a support (8) for supporting at the upper edge.

Behälter, insbesondere Palettenbehälter (1), der einen Boden (2), Seitenwände 3a - 3d) und einen an einer der Seitenwände (3b) verschwenkbar angeordneten Deckel aufweist. Gemäß der Erfindung ist ein Gleitlager (7) vorgesehen, das mit der Oberkante (5) einem der Seitenwände (3b) durch Scharniere (6) verbunden ist und an dem der Deckel (4) befestigt ist und mittels dessen der Deckel (4) in einer zu der Oberkante (5) senkrechten Richtung verschiebbar gelagert ist. Vorzugsweise ist der feststehende Teil (27) des Gleitlagers (7) mit den Scharnieren (6) verbunden und der bewegliche Teil (26) des Gleitlagers (7) an dem Deckel (4) befestigt.
