[origin: EP2256261A2] The syphon (10) has an odor trap insert (6) with an insert housing. A curved channel (6e) with u-shaped cross section is formed in the housing. The channel exhibits a channel inlet opening (6c) and a Channel outlet opening (6d), where the openings are connected with an inlet port of an inlet connection (1b) and/or an outlet port of an output connection (1e). The inlet port and the outlet port are turned towards a front side (1g) of an odor trap housing (1). The channel inlet opening and the channel outlet opening are formed in a rear wall (6f) of an insert housing body (6a).
