The method involves inputting a cooking time (tg) and a target temperature (Ts). A derived cooking time (tg2) is determined from the input cooking time and the input target temperature by adding the input cooking time with an empirically determined time premium (x). The time premium is determined as a function of food type, function of food weight, function of initial temperature, function of adjusted heating type or function of input cooking time based on the input target temperature. An independent claim is also included for a household appliance comprising a baking-oven.

Das Verfahren zum Betreiben eines Backofens weist die folgenden Schritte auf: Eingeben mindestens einer zusammen mit einem Vorheizvorgang vorgesehenen Garzeit (tg) und einer Solltemperatur (Ts) sowie Ermitteln einer ohne den Vorheizvorgang vorgesehenen, abgeleiteten Garzeit (tg2) mindestens aus der eingegebenen Garzeit (tg) und der eingegebenen Solltemperatur (Ts). Das Haushaltsgerät ist mit einem Backofen ausgerüstet, z.B. ein Herd oder ein Einbaubackofen, wobei das Haushaltsgerät dazu eingerichtet ist, das obige Verfahren ablaufen zu lassen.
