The apparatus has a press box (2) comprising a charging door, press plate (3), which is connected to a press drive (5) and retractable in initial position, and a lockable, outlet opening (7) for compressed bales. A trolley is coupled at the opening of the press box for bales. A pushing device, which is directed transverse to the press drive and separated from the press drive, is provided on a side, which is opposite to the opening, of the press box. The pushing device cooperates with the press plate as a guide for the bales.

Es wird eine Vorrichtung zum Pressen und Fördern von Ballen (16), insbesondere aus Altstoffen, mit einem Presskasten (2), der eine Beschickungstür (11), eine an einen Pressenantrieb (5) angeschlossene, in eine Ausgangsstellung zurückziehbare Pressplatte (3) und eine verschließbare, seitliche Ausschuböffnung (7) für die Pressballen (16) umfasst, und mit einem an die Ausschuböffnung (7) des Presskastens (2) ankuppelbaren Förderwagen (17) für die Pressballen (16) beschrieben, der eine in der Kupplungsstellung mit der Ausschuböffnung (7) übereinstimmende, verschließbare Ladeöffnung (19) aufweist. Um vorteilhafte Konstruktionsbedingungen zu schaffen, wird vorgeschlagen, dass auf der der Ausschuböffnung (7) gegenüberliegenden Seite des Pressenkastens (2) eine vom Pressenantrieb (5) gesonderte, quer zum Pressenantrieb (5) ausgerichtete Ausschubeinrichtung (8) vorgesehen ist, die mit der in die Ausgangsstellung zurückgezogenen Pressplatte (3) als Führung für die Pressballen (16) zusammenwirkt.
