Transparent paper comprises: a coating layer on one surface; and at least an increased strip grip in at least one edge region on one or both surfaces, where the coating layer is formed by applying an aqueous coating solution or a suspension on a printing side of the transparent paper. Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing the transparent paper, where at least one strip of the paper is affixed or printed on at least one edge surface of a transparent paper after its production, and the transparent paper is placed in a size press with an additive at least in one edge region of the transparent paper to increase the grip of the surface of the transparent paper to at least in the edge region; and (2) coating of the transparent paper with an aqueous coating solution or a suspension by a coating method, where the non-printing reverse side of the transparent paper is moistened with an aqueous solution preceding to or simultaneously with the application of an aqueous coating solution on a printing side of the transparent paper.

Beschrieben wird ein für Digitaldruck geeignetes Transparentpapier, das auf einer Oberfläche eine Beschichtungsschicht aufweist, die durch Auftragen einer wässrigen Beschichtungslösung bzw. -suspension auf die zu bedruckende Seite eines Transparentpapiers ausgebildet wurde, Transparentpapier, das in mindestens einem Randbereich auf einer oder beiden Oberflächen mindestens einen Streifen erhöhter Griffigkeit aufweist, Verfahren zur Herstellung bzw. Beschichtung der oben genannten Transparentpapiere sowie die Verwendung der oben genannten Transparentpapiere zum Bedrucken mittels eines digitalen Druckers.
