Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2258952A2] The positioner (1) has a pneumatic working component (3), and a piezo-pneumatic valve unit (2) provided on the working component. The valve unit comprises two piezo-pneumatic valves (11, 12) pneumatically coupled with one another. The valve unit has a signal input (29) for an electrical control signal and a supplying input (4) that is connectable to a compressed gas supply. Flow channels (35-37) are arranged in valve housings and end into a receiving cavity such that different functional characteristics of the valves are realizable with the identical valve housings by exchanging valve inserts. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjustment of a fail-safe behavior of a pneumatic positioner.
