[origin: EP2259270A2] The present invention relates to a cable element for high frequency data transmission comprising one single twisted pair of insulated electrical conductors surrounded by a first shielding layer thereby forming a first space between said twisted pair of insulated electrical conductors and an inner surface of said first shielding layer. An object of the present invention is to provide an improved data transmission cable comprising cable elements that can be used in outdoor conditions preferably without impairing data transmission performance of the cable.
