[origin: EP2259279A1] The switch (1) has a mechanical subassembly (8) including a unit for activating a microswitch of an electric subassembly (6), where the electric and mechanical subassemblies have an assembly unit. A sealed joint (15) is overmolded on a joining area between the mechanical and electric subassemblies, where the sealed joint has thermoplastic material e.g. thermoplastic elastomer. An elastic return unit has an overmolded spring with an end arranged around the microswitch. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electric switch for a rear door or tailgate of an automobile.
