[origin: WO2009124736A1] A clothes drier comprises a rotatably mounted drying drum (1) for holding laundry (3) that is to be dried as well as a driving motor (4) for rotationally driving the drying drum (1). According to the invention, the driving motor (4) for the drying drum (1) is a single-phase or polyphase electric motor, and a frequency converter (14) is provided for triggering the electric motor (4).
