The device has a working place computer (3) outputting a receiving unit code of a record on a screen device (4). The computer comprises a data input station (5) designed to output a candidate list (KL) on the screen device, where the list comprises a receiver-identifier (Add) of the record. The selection of the receiver-identifier from the list is determined using the input station, where a receiving unit-identifier is output as an identifier of a receiving unit (B4). The identifier of the receiving unit is associated to a record, whose receiver-identifier is selected. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling transportation of a mail article to a mail box of a mail box system.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung und ein Verfahren zum Steuern des Transports eines Gegenstands, insbesondere einer Postsendung (Ps), zu einer Aufnahmeeinheit (B4). Die Vorrichtung umfasst ein Bildaufnahmegerät (1), ein Lesegerät (2), eine rechnerverfügbare Zuordnungs-Tabelle (ZT) und ein datenverarbeitendes Gerät (3) mit einem Ausgabegerät (4). Das Bildaufnahmegerät (1) erzeugt ein rechneerverfügbares Abbild (Abb). Das Lesegerät (2) entziffert unter Verwendung des Abbilds (Abb) vom Bildaufnahmegerät (1) die Empfänger-Kennzeichnung (Add). Die Zuordnungs-Tabelle (ZT) umfasst für eine Menge von möglichen Empfängern jeweils einen Datensatz mit einer Kennzeichnung des Empfängers und eine Kennung einer Aufnahmeeinheit (A2, C3, B4) für einen Gegenstand. Das datenverarbeitende Gerät wählt unter Verwendung eines Entzifferungsergebnisses vom Lesegerät (2) einen Datensatz in der Zuordnungs-Tabelle (ZT) aus und gibt die Aufnahmeeinheits-Kennung dieses Datensatzes auf dem Ausgabegerät (4) in einer von einem Menschen wahrnehmbaren Form aus. Hierbei wird eine rechnerverfügbare Auswahlliste (KL) erzeugt, wobei die Auswahlliste (KL) jede Empfänger-Kennzeichnung eines gekennzeichneten Datensatzes umfasst
