The apparatus has a covering plate (22) for covering an installation box for accommodating a display device and comprising a movable retaining element (34) at a rear side, where the retaining element is magnetically operated from outer side. The retaining element is designed as a metallic component e.g. pin or cylinder, and acts together with magnetized openings (36). The openings are attached to permanent magnets, and the retaining element is fastened to slide bearings (30) at the rear side of the covering plate. An independent claim is also included for a method for locking and/or unlocking an apparatus for covering a display device.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Vorrichtung (22, 30, 34, 36) zur Abdeckung einer in eine Decken-, Boden- oder Wandfläche (10) eingelassenen Anzeigevorrichtung sowie auf ein Verfahren zur Betätigung dieser Vorrichtung. Eine Abdeckplatte (22) überdeckt einen in eine Öffnung (12) eingelassen Einbaukasten (20) zur Aufnahme der Anzeigevorrichtung. Die Abdeckplatte (22) weist an Ihrer Rückseite (40) mindestens ein verschiebbares Halteelement (34). Dieses ist magnetisch von außen, d.h. außerhalb der Abdeckplatte (22), betätigbar.
