[origin: EP2262282A2] The method involves determining the frequency response of the hearing device (FA3) depending on a preset, a user-independent frequency response (FA1) and a user-dependent frequency response (FA2) (110). The user is a carrier of the hearing device. The user-dependent frequency response is determined by audio logical tests (103). The quantity of the parameter settings is controlled according to preset criteria. The parameter settings are provided by the audio logical tests for determining the user-dependent frequency response. An independent claim is also included for a hearing device for determining frequency response in a discretionary acoustic environmental situation.
