[origin: EP2265097A1] The arrangement has a series resonant circuit comprising an inductive element (L1) coupled to an electrode of a low-pressure discharge lamp (LP) and a capacitor (C3) connected in series with the element and in parallel with the low-pressure discharge lamp. A resistive element (R1) is connected in series with a diode (D2) between a terminal of a direct current voltage source and a positive temperature coefficient thermistor (PTC). An evaluation device (A) taps off voltage drop across the resistive element, and is coupled to a microcontroller in order to deactivate the microcontroller. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a low-pressure discharge lamp with a circuit arrangement.
