[origin: WO2009112514A1] The invention relates to a printing unit (01) of a printing machine comprising a pair of side frames (02) disposed opposite to one another, with at least one printing mechanism and at least one ink unit (04) located therebetween, said printing mechanism comprising a plurality of printing cylinders (03), wherein each of the two side frames comprises a longitudinal crossbar (17) that runs in the direction of transport of a print substrate (24) traveling through the printing unit, wherein the two longitudinal crossbars bound a foot space (09) of the printing unit at two parallel sides, wherein a plurality of pipelines (11; 12; 13; 14) is disposed in the foot space between the two longitudinal crossbars, said pipelines supplying media to the printing unit, wherein the medium fed through the pipelines is liquid or gaseous, wherein at least one of the pipelines is connected to at least one user located in the printing unit to be supplied with the respective medium or to at least one source supplying the respective medium. Also, a method for using said printing unit is described as well as a printing machine comprising a plurality of said printing units, for example.
