[origin: WO2009127383A1] A shelf storage and retrieval unit and a method for storing and retrieving articles for loading and unloading in a shelf store are disclosed, wherein the articles are stored on loading aid means, preferably with a single article per loading aid means, in particular per shelf board, in storage spaces of at least one shelf of the shelf store, having the following steps: moving of a shelf storage and retrieval unit to a receiving point in the shelf, which shelf storage and retrieval unit can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the shelf and has an adjustable-height elevating platform; receiving of a loading aid means which is loaded with an article from the shelf onto a load receiving means of the shelf storage and retrieval unit; separating of the article from the received loading aid means on the elevating platform by means of a separating station; moving of the shelf storage and retrieval unit to a transfer point, where the shelf storage and retrieval unit couples in a transverse direction of the shelf to an article delivery technical means which runs in the longitudinal direction of the shelf at the transfer point; and discharging of the separated article from the elevating platform to the article delivery technical means.
