[origin: WO2009114912A1] Device for safely erecting or dismantling a scaffold with a front part and two side parts and with a number of scaffold levels, comprising at least two railing structures for placing on the side parts of the scaffold, wherein each railing structure is provided with coupling means for releasably connecting each railing structure to a side part of a first scaffold level in order to form a railing for a second scaffold level located thereabove, wherein each railing structure is adapted for connection to at least one cable, this such that the at least one cable forms, together with the railing structures, a railing on respectively the front part and the side parts of the second scaffold level, wherein each railing structure consists of a lower part which is provided with the coupling means and an upper part connected hingedly thereto and adapted for connection to the at least one cable.
