[origin: WO2009125135A2] Casing (10) for a moving-blade wheel (100) of a turbomachine, comprising a plurality of circumferential slots (11,12,13) having substantially constant cross sections, and wherein the area of the cross section (S1,S2,S3) of the circumferential slots (11,12,13) decreases in the upstream to downstream direction from the first slot (11) to the last slot (13). As a result of the casing being processed in this way, the efficiency of the moving-blade wheel is optimized and the surge margin is improved.
