[origin: WO2009118295A1] The invention relates to a crockery basket (1) of a dishwasher, for receiving pieces of crockery (4), said basket comprising a bottom and lateral parts (3.1, 3.2, 3.3) framing the bottom. At least one row (5) of projecting rods for holding the pieces of crockery (4) is arranged on the bottom of the basket, said row consisting of at least one base wire (5.2) for the rods and at least one row (5) of rods which is fixed to the base wire and consists of individual rod wires (5.1). The ends of the base wire (5.2) for the rods are bent and pivotally mounted on the bottom of the basket, and the base wire (5.2) is at a distance from the bottom of the basket in the region of the row (5) of rods when the row (5) of rods is pivoted upright. The invention also relates to a dishwasher comprising a corresponding crockery basket (1).
