Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2009135230A1] The invention relates to a clamshell handle (1), especially for furniture (2) with at least one movable furniture part (3), comprising a housing (4) with at least one engagement opening (5), wherein the housing (4) can be connected with the movable part (3) of the furniture (2) or the housing (4) or the housing (4) can be lifted at least partly out of the furniture part (2) and wherein the housing (4) has a stop (6), which protrudes regionally into the engagement opening (5), and a cover plate (7), which can be moved relative to the housing (5), is disposed in the housing (4) and, when not in the operating position, is in contact with the stop (6) of the housing. At least one elastically bendable restoring element (8) in the form of a suction cup (8a) or an expanding basket (8b), preferably of plastic, is disposed at the rear of the cover plate (7). The cover plate (7) is pressed against the stop (6) when not in the operating position and moved away from the stop (6) when in the operating position. The restoring element (8) is deformed, preferably flattened or spread, counter to its inherent stiffness.
