[origin: EP2272793A2] The surcingle (18) has a rein which is fixed in a middle area of the surcingle and is provided for connecting with a harness (12) of a horse (10). The surcingle is provided at a side with a covering element which covers the fastening point of the rein in surcingle. The side is turned towards the horse waist in the operational position.
