[origin: WO2009133251A1] The invention relates to a water treatment device wherein the water being treated is contacted with the treatment medium (4), which is regularly regenerated, optionally using a regeneration medium (19), and a controller (48) is used therefor together with a hydraulic programmer (24) for monitoring the water consumption and for controlling the start of the regeneration cycle, and with a further hydraulic programmer (25) for monitoring the regeneration cycle, wherein each of the programmers (24-25) is controlled by an ordinary water meter (23).
