[origin: WO2009121836A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for producing bags from pieces (2) of tubing comprising a fabric consisting of stretched plastic strips and consisting of two material strips arranged one above the other. At least the following elements are provided: a transport device by which means the pieces (2) of tubing can be transported in a horizontal layer in a transport direction (x) transversal to the longitudinal direction (z) of the pieces of tubing; a bottom opening station (3) by which means open bottom squares (5) can be produced on at least one end (5) of a piece (2) of tubing; an assembly station (7) by which means the bottoms (4) opened on the bottom opening station (3) can be attached by folding; and a bottom covering sheet station (8) by which means a bottom covering sheet can be applied in order to close the bottom of the bag. At least one working station (3, 6, 7, 8) is at least partially staggered on the operating side (BS) in relation to a similar working station (3', 6', 7', 8') on the drive side (AS).
