In the rolling mill, the paired upper and lower work rolls (2) each have two bearing housings (13a, 13e, 13b, 13f, 13c, 13g, 13d, 13h) mounted on each side, and the bearings are restrained in the horizontal direction by backlash elimination cylinders (18a, 18e, 18b, 18f, 18c, 18g, 18d, 18h).
