Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2277762A2] The vehicle has lower and upper bumper bars (3, 5) forming impact surfaces and arranged at two heights, respectively. Irreversible crash absorbers (13a, 13b, 15a) are connected to the bumper bars and absorb impact energy on the surfaces during collision, respectively. A coupling has a rod (43) that directs linear movement of a coupling element (47) fastened to the upper bumper bar during collision. The coupling has a stop striking at the coupling element during the linear movement so that the impact energy is absorbed by one of the crash absorbers (13a). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a crash absorber-arrangement for a railway vehicle.
