[origin: WO2009129793A1] The invention relates to an apparatus which can be at least partially inserted into a hollow space of a body and comprises a transmitter for emitting signals and a receiver means for sensing transmitter signal responses. The transmitter is arranged at an insertable end of the apparatus in order to be inserted and is designed to generate radar waves ranging from 10, preferably more than 15, even more preferably more than 100 GHz, to 300 GHz. Furthermore, the receiver means is also arranged at the proximal end of the apparatus in order to be inserted into the body and is designed to generate propagation time-related electric signals in response to radar waves being sensed.
