[origin: WO2009144152A1] The invention relates to a method for converting a source document portrayed in a source format and at least one associated metadatum portrayed in said source format or in a format enabling metadata generation in said source format, into at least one destination document portrayed in a destination format. According to the invention, the source format is compliant with a first protocol for exchanging and/or sharing non-image medical documents, and the destination format is compliant with a second protocol for exchanging and/or sharing medical imaging documents, wherein the method comprises the following steps: inserting said source document into a first portion of said destination document; transposing said at least one metadatum into transposed data; inserting said transposed data into a second portion of said destination document that is different from said first portion.
