Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2279838A2] The device (10) i.e. wood splitter (12), has a supporting area movable in a horizontal direction and comprising a narrow middle section (18). The middle section has bearing areas for trunk segments formed by splitting. A mechanical, hydraulic or electrically-driven plunger (20) is connected with the bearing areas in such a manner that the bearing areas moves together with the plunger along a feed direction. The bearing sections are formed by a pivotable unloading hatch that is brought into an unloading position for removing the trunk sections.
