[origin: WO2009132882A1] The invention relates to an electromechanical brake booster (1) with an electric motor (5) and a helical gearing (6), said brake booster coupling an auxiliary force via a driver (14) into a piston rod (2). The invention proposes connecting a spindle (12) of the helical gearing (6) elastically via a spring element (15) to the piston rod (2) such that, in the event of rapid actuation of the brake, the helical gearing (6) and a rotor (7) of the electric motor (4) do not have to be accelerated entirely by means of muscular power. The muscular power required for actuating a brake is reduced as a result in the event of a rapid actuation of the brake.
