Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2281933A1] To provide a knitted fabric with double stitches such that the knitted fabric is not divided at the position of the double stitch, and a knitting method thereof. A knitted fabric with a double stitch formed by overlapping one stitch 2 over another stitch 3 of the two stitches 2, 3 adjacent in a knitting width direction is knitted using a flat knitting machine, capable of transferring stitches to between front and back needle beds. In this case, the other stitch 3 is knitted after continuously knitting the one stitch 2 and a stitch 4 (adjacent stitch) adjacent on a side opposite to the one stitch 2 with respect to the other stitch 3. The double stitch is formed by overlapping the one stitch 2 and the other stitch 3. Through such knitting, the adjacent stitch 4 is directly connected, through a sinker loop X, to the one stitch 2 forming the double stitch, whereby the sinker loop X does not appear as if stretched, and the knitted fabric is less likely to be divided.
