[origin: EP2282558A2] The device has housing that is worn on ear of user. A channel is formed in housing as a through opening for allowing passage of sound and air between interior of the ear and an environment outside the ear. The valve (17) is formed by electroactive polymer material. The valve changes the size of through-opening at specific position by application of voltage. An independent claim is included for method of operating in-the-ear hearing device.
