[origin: EP2282614A2] The circuit arrangement comprises a primary circuit, where a series circuit of an inductance, an ignition capacitor (C1) and a switch is configured. The primary circuit has two decoupled voltages (U1,U2), where one voltage is correlated with the energy of the ignition pulses. The other voltage controls the shift timing of the switch. An independent claim is also included for a method for igniting a discharge lamp.
