The folding tool is driven by an electrical motor and comprises controllable rotary driven cylindrical and conical folding rollers and free rotatable counter rollers. The folding rollers and the counter rollers are arranged at the tool head, which is designed as a replaceable head module. The base carrier has multiple connectors for providing medium and/or energy for the tool head. The folding rollers are arranged on driving axes in a movable manner.
