[origin: EP2284082A2] The method involves protruding sections (24) of cross-shaped packaging materials (10) in a region of product-side surfaces over an edge of a unilateral open container, where the product-side surfaces are laid opposite to each other. The sections of the packaging materials are folded together by covering a product-top side in order to seal the packaging materials in a sealing area (28). The sections of the packaging materials are stuck out from a top portion (26) and from a side surface area (20) of a product, where the packaging materials are made of plastic film with aluminum content.
