[origin: EP2106680A1] The self-propelled soil aeration machine (1) has a reduction gearing (3) in the transmission between a main drive shaft (12) and a crankshaft (14) driving and withdrawing a probe (4) into the soil (44). The gearing can be a constant variable transmission (CVT) or exchangeable paired cogwheels (30,32,34,36) set to a variety of reduction ratios. The gearing assembly is between the gearing input shaft (16) and the drive output shaft (14).
