Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009135910A2] The invention relates to an in vitro or in vivo method for screening for candidate compounds for the preventive or curative treatment of acne, of seborrhoeic dermatitis or of skin disorders associated with hyperseborrhoea, comprising the determination of the ability of a compound to modulate the expression or the activity of the melanoma cell adhesion molecule (MCAM), and also to the use of modulators of the expression or of the activity of this protein, for the treatment of acne, of seborrhoeic dermatitis or of skin disorders associated with hyperseborrhoea. The invention also relates to methods for the in vitro diagnosis of or in vitro prognosis for these pathologies.
