[origin: EP2287377A1] A drive and guide device comprises first crankshaft (7) rotatably supported in machine stand (8); needle bar (1) supported in machine stand movable at least up and down; a first connecting rod (5) supported on first cam (6) of the first crankshaft and connected to the needle bar; and guide device for guiding needle bar along path extending substantially perpendicular to a needle-punching support surface, with at least one of the first connecting rod and guide device comprising leaf spring (9) rigidly connected to needle bar to transmit drive or guide force.
