The electrical appliance (1) has a base (2) formed in the form of a flush-mounted device and mounted in a commercial flush-mounted box (18). The base has a battery charger (3) and an electrical connection (4) for an alternating current network. The front side of the base of an Universal serial bus (USB)charger connection socket (11) is provided for the connection of an USB-charging connection plug (22) of an USB-device. A mechanical on and off switch is arranged between the connection and the input of the charger device.

Es wird ein elektrisches Installationsgerät (1) mit einem in Form eines Unterputz-Gerätes ausgebildeten und in eine handelsübliche Unterputzdose (18) montierbaren Gerätesockel (2) vorgeschlagen, welcher ein Ladegerät (3) und einen elektrischen Anschluss (4) für ein Wechselspannungsnetz aufweist, €¢ wobei frontseitig des Gerätesockels (2) eine USB-Ladeanschlusssteckbuchse (11) für den Anschluss eines USB-Ladeanschlusssteckers (22) eines USB-Geräts (21) vorgesehen ist, €¢ wobei ein mechanischer Ein/Aus-Schalter (5) zwischen dem Anschluss (4) und dem Eingang des Ladegeräts (3) angeordnet ist, €¢ wobei mindestens zwei Schaltkontakte (6, 7) des Ein/Aus-Schalters (5) unter Einsatz eines eine translatorische Bewegung ausführenden federbelasteten Stößels (8) oder einer eine rotatorische Bewegung ausführenden federbelasteten Wippe (25) geöffnet respektive geschlossen werden, €¢ wobei beim Einstecken des USB-Ladeanschlusssteckers (22) in die USB-Ladeanschlusssteckbuchse (11) eine Gehäusekante (23) des USB-Ladeanschlusssteckers (22) direkt oder indirekt gegen den Stößel (8) oder gegen die Wippe (25) drückt, wodurch der Ein/Aus-Schalter (5) betätigt wird.
