Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009149975A1] A control device and a method for actuating vehicle occupant protection means for a vehicle are proposed, wherein at least two acceleration signals are made available by at least two acceleration sensors which are oriented in different spatial directions. The orientations are angular here with respect to a coordinate system which is oriented in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The at least two acceleration signals are transformed onto at least two axes of the coordinate system. The actuation signal is generated as a function of the comparison of the at least two acceleration signals and the transformed acceleration signals. The vehicle occupant protection means are actuated as a function of the actuation signal.
