[origin: EP2289643A2] The device has a base carrier (1), and a tool carrier (4) moved relative to the base carrier along an axis. A bending tool is brought in engagement with a pipe (3) to be bent, by rotation of the tool carrier at a rotation axis. A rotation drive rotates the tool carrier at a rotation axis. A gear transmits displacement of the tool carrier to the base carrier relative to rotation movement of the tool carrier at the rotation axis. The tool carrier is moved relative to the base carrier over a linear drive. A drive wheel is connected with a shaft of the tool carrier.
