Abstract (en)

A food container (110) comprising a frame (30) defining the shape of the container; the framing having an open top, the frame arranged to contain a food product comprised of discrete food articles; a wrapper (111) surrounding said frame, said wrapper (111) forming respective top, side, ends, (115a, 115b) and bottom faces of the container (110); said top (12) and one said end faces (115a, 115b) having an access opening (118) such that the access opening spans two adjacent faces of the container, the access opening being sufficiently large and configured to provide access to substantially all of the discrete food articles contained within the frame (30) while the frame (30) is surrounded by the wrapper (111), such that substantially any one of the discrete food articles can be accessed and be removed through the access opening; and a sealing layer (20) having a starter portion (22) which can be grasped by a user, said sealing layer (20) adhesively sealed to said top face (12) and said one of said end faces (115a, 115b) around said access opening, said sealing layer (20) being releasable when said starter portion (22) is pulled in a direction away from said one of said end faces (115a, 115b) to thereby release at least a portion of said sealing layer (20) to provide said access to said access opening and said sealing layer (20) being resealable against said top face and said one of said end faces (15a, 15b) to seal said access opening when said sealing layer (20) is moved back against said top face and said one of said end faces (115a, 115b).
