[origin: WO2010000358A1] The invention relates to a method for imprinting printing paper (1) from a roll having a pattern (2) comprising at least one pattern image (3) for use with flat components, particularly floor, wall, ceiling, or furniture applications, wherein cut markings (6, 7, 8) at the edges are also printed on the printing paper (1) in addition to the pattern (2), said markings defining adjacent paper segments (10, 11, 12) on each of which pattern images (3) are located. In order to provide a simple and cost-effective printing method, whereby prints of high print quality can be produced, according to the invention, the printing paper (1) is imprinted by means of a digital printing method by a digital printing device, and a cut marking (6, 7, 8) is printed after interrupting the printing process and subsequent restarting of the same, depending on the print quality of the pattern (2) and/or the function of the digital printing device.
