In order to ensure rigid, radial guidance of the projectile body (2) when firing the sabot projectile (1), despite the use of a guide cage (5) made of plastic, according to the invention the guide cage (5) is made of a fiber-reinforced plastic and the support wall (6) is made of metal, preferably an aluminum alloy. Both parts are then connected to each other in a positive and/or non-positive way.
