[origin: EP2295781A2] The exhaust gas recirculation system (14) has an exhaust gas recirculation valve (24) arranged in an exhaust gas recirculation line (16) between an exhaust gas line (18) and a fresh gas line (20). The exhaust gas recirculation valve is provided as an exhaust gas recirculation module (22) having a functional component (26,28) of the exhaust recirculation system.
