[origin: WO2009153389A1] The invention relates to a method of manufacturing printed board packages or containers, such as board drinking cups (32). A board web (1) that is fed from a roller is digital-printed by dry toner or ink-jet techniques, the body blanks of the cups are cut from the printed web, and the blanks are bent and seamed with bottoms in a cup machine (20) to form finished cups that are provided with prints, which are finally stacked. Correspondingly, filled and closed board product packages can also be produced by printing and seaming the web. In the invention, it is essential that separate, preferably short production sequences are produced continuously, between which the printing is changed without discontinuing the printing process. The different runs are separated from each other at the assembling stage of the blanks or finished cups or containers. Between printing the web and cutting the blanks, the web can be stored in a buffer (13), so that the printing of the web can continue, even though the cutting of the blanks is temporarily slowed down or discontinued.
