[origin: WO2009115687A1] The invention relates to a member (6) of a drill packer (1) that comprises at least one area (12) bearing on the wall of the drill hole, the bearing area (12) being provided with at least one bearing segment (14) having an outer diameter larger than the diameter of the other portions of the member, and two activation areas (10, 16) substantially adjacent to the bearing area (12) and arranged upstream and downstream from the bearing area (12), wherein said activation areas (10, 16) include a plurality of grooves (11, 17) having a generally helical shape about the axis (2) of said member, the bearing area (12) including two guiding segments (13, 15) having a convex rounded revolution shape and arranged upstream and downstream from the bearing segment (14), adjacent to said bearing segment (14), and tangential to said bearing segment (14) and to the activation areas (10, 16).
