The furniture item has a seat that is displaceable relative to a backrest frame (7) for changing seat depth by a lower backrest frame (17) that is connected at a rear part of the seat and mounted pivotably on the backrest frame. A lumbar support carrier is fastened at an end to the backrest frame and at another end to the lower backrest frame. The lumbar support carrier includes a transverse carrier (21) and a longitudinal carrier (23) that is connected to the transverse carrier and to the lower backrest frame, where a lumbar support (15) is displaceably mounted on the longitudinal carrier.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Sitzmöbel mit einer Sitztiefenverstellung, bei der der Sitz relativ zu einem Lehnenrahmen verschiebbar gelagert ist. Erfindungsgemäß wird vorgeschlagen, am Lehnenrahmen (7) einen schwenkbaren Lehnenunterrahmen (17) anzubringen, der mit dem hinteren Teil des Sitzes (1) verbunden ist. Auf diese Weise bleibt der verschiebbare Sitz mit der Lehne verbunden, und es entsteht kein Horizontalspalt zwischen Lehne und Sitz, der den Sitzkomfort beeinträchtigen könnte und das Gesamtbild des Sitzmöbels stört; die erfindungsgemäße Sitztiefenverstellung ist insbesondere auch für den Einsatz mit Synchronmechaniken geeignet.
